Bremer Pest Control Services

Termites in the Missouri are always subterranean species, meaning that the colony lives underground and while they may actively feed above ground in a home, deck or tree stump they must return to the ground regularly. Homeowners usually discover they have termites in the spring when they swarm, this is how the colony expands expelling reproductive termites to begin new colonies or the tell-tell frass tubes termites make to protect the workers from the air and other insects like ants in the home above ground.

Chlordane Treatments

Many older homes were treated with chlordane and are generally well protected against termites unless there have been additions to the home, garage or porches since the initial treatment. Chlordane was injected in the soil around the perimeter of the house by drilling or trenching and acted as a barrier to the termites as opposed to killing the colonies around the structure.

Today there are currently two options in the Missouri for termite control:

1. Soil Treatment our preferred method, this is done by Roding and trenching the soil areas and just like baiting the drilling and roding and patching the concrete portions of the front porch and garage with the advancements in termiticides that can now elimination the colony this has become our preferred method of treatment. We currently use Termidor termiticide to eliminate termite infestation and prevent future termite re-infestations from damaging your home with a 5 year guarantee only requiring yearly inspection. This type of treatment can be as low as $550.00.

2. Baiting, where only a small portion of the home is physically treated with a liquid treatment and then bait stations are places in the ground with small strips of wood once the termites start actively feeding then a toxicant is added, this type of service requires monthly to quarterly monitoring and service charge. This type treatment starts around $600.00 and up.
